Please provide a description of your practice.
I help families and business owners transfer their wealth to their intended beneficiaries by engaging in estate and gift tax planning. I also work with individuals and families after a family member’s death by helping distribute assets from the decedent’s estate and resolving beneficiary disputes that can arise during administration.
Why are you a member of the WBAI?
I am passionate about the advancement of women in our profession. I really enjoy connecting with other members. The WBAI is a wonderful group of very accomplished and inspiring women. It is hard to meet other professional women (we are all busy!) especially women in a demanding field like the practice of law. I’m thankful that the Women’s Bar has allowed me to meet and connect with other women who share similar challenges.
What are you most looking forward to in 2017?
2017 is a big year for our family. My husband and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I would not have been able to achieve being a wife, mother, and law firm partner without his love and support. And my older daughter is graduating from high school in May and will be attending University of Illinois at Champaign in the fall.
Tell us something interesting about you.
I love to play golf and am volunteering as a marshal on Hole 1 at the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at the end of June at Olympia Fields Country Club.
