Law Clerk // Tressler LLP
Please provide a description of your practice.
I currently am a 2L at UIC Law and serve as a Law Clerk at Tressler LLP, where my professional journey has been both dynamic and enriching. Tressler’s comprehensive range of practice areas, including insurance coverage, litigation, government law, labor and employment law, homeowners association law, and transportation law, has provided me with a diverse and valuable experience. Notably, my interest in transportation law, particularly aviation law, has been nurtured through valuable mentorship within the firm, offering me hands-on exposure not covered in my law school curriculum. This unique opportunity has allowed me to explore new legal dimensions, aiding me in determining my future area of specialization.
Why are you a member of the WBAI?
My affiliation with the WBAI is rooted in shared values and a commitment to integrating these positive principles into the legal profession. As a first-generation law student, I recognize the importance of building a network of trusted professionals and mentors. WBAI has proven instrumental in fostering meaningful connections, providing resources, insights, and support crucial for navigating the legal landscape. The organization’s dedication to bridging gaps and empowering individuals in the legal industry, whether due to being a first-generation attorney, a woman in a male-dominated field, or both, resonates with my personal journey.
What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?
I proudly contribute to the WBAI Sports Committee, furthering initiatives that promote the inclusion of women in sports and recognizing the parallels between sports values and success in the legal realm. Drawing on my experience as a former college athlete, I advocate viewing women in law as a cohesive team. A successful team thrives on mutual support, collaboration, and continuous elevation. Witnessing this philosophy in action at Tressler LLP, within the WBAI, and among my peers at school reinforces my belief that empowerment stems from recognizing, encouraging, and supporting each other.
What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?
In the upcoming year, both personally and professionally, I eagerly anticipate completing my second year of law school and immersing myself in the Trial Advocacy program at UIC. Exploring various facets of litigation through work and mock trial excites me as I prepare for a future in the courtroom. Personally, I aspire to run the Chicago Marathon for the third time and aim to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Additionally, as an executive board member of the Fashion Beauty Law Society, I look forward to realizing our plans for a captivating fashion show. Attending my law school bestie’s wedding next summer is another highlight that I am very excited for!
