Kathleen Ford

Owner/Founder // Ford Freelance Law, LLC

Please provide a description of your practice.

My practice, Ford Freelance Law, LLC, provides lawyers and law firms with high quality legal research and brief writing on a contract basis.  I collaborate with attorneys on a wide variety of civil matters and assist them with discrete projects, such as researching specific issues, drafting legal memoranda and substantive briefs, and enhancing their deposition and trial preparation efforts.  Attorneys can use my services on an ongoing or singular basis in order to manage their caseload more effectively when their workflow exceeds their current capacity.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?

I was first introduced to the WBAI by Corinne Heggie, who invited me to attend the Top Women Lawyers in Leadership event held last October.  At this event, I had the opportunity to meet numerous WBAI members who were personally and professionally engaging.  Being extremely impressed with both the quality of the event and its attendees, I joined the WBAI shortly thereafter.  I am very excited to be part of this outstanding group of women and hope to meet many more of the WBAI’s members in the coming year.

What are you most looking forward to in 2017?

Professionally, I am looking forward to continuing to grow my freelance law practice and helping overextended attorneys manage their law practice more efficiently and effectively. Personally, I am looking forward to traveling to Florida with my husband and two young daughters and taking them to Disney World for the first time.

Tell us something interesting about you.

I lived in Luxembourg for a semester during college and had the opportunity to travel all over Europe.
