Julia Korzeniowski

Law Clerk, The Muller Firm, LTD // 2L, UIC School of Law

Please provide a description of your practice.

I am currently focused on pursuing a career in family and divorce law and have been greatly enjoying my experience working in the field thus far. I also serve on the boards for UIC Law’s Women’s Law Caucus, Child and Family Law Society, and First Generation Law Student Association.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?

I first joined WBAI as a way to network with attorneys with similar backgrounds and experiences. Since joining, I’ve received amazing advice from law school peers, attorneys, and judges, and I could not be more grateful to have this resource at my finger tips.

What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?

I believe it’s important to create a community where women can advocate for themselves and those around them, too. Fostering an environment where like-minded individuals can share struggles, resources, and advice is crucial to ensuring success in both our careers and personal life. It all starts with mentorship. Having someone to go to even when needing an answer to a question is at the core of how we help empower and support women in law.

What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?

I am greatly looking forward to starting to look for externship opportunities and see a different side to the work I currently do. I am also excited to work on some fantastic events through my law schools organizations to open 1L students to new opportunities.

Tell us something interesting about you.

In my free time, I absolutely love to cook. Some of my favorite recipes include focaccia, pozole verde, and cinnamon rolls!
