Please provide a description of your practice.

I am currently a 3L at UIC Law and hold a position on the school’s Moot Court Executive Board. I am a law clerk for WBAI Recording Secretary Caidi Vanderporten and her family law practice, MAMMAS GOLDBERG VANDERPORTEN.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?

I became a member of the WBAI because I wanted to be a part of a community that empowers women and supports law students as they begin to enter the legal field.

What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?

The best way to empower women in law is to be part of a community with strong, like-minded mentors who can help you grow throughout your legal career.

What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?

This year, I am looking forward to attending more Women’s Bar events and meeting new attorneys, judges, legislators, and law students. I am also looking forward to serving as a Co-Committee member on the Domestic Relations Committee and using my position to get more involved in the community.

Something interesting about me is that I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and am a first-generation law student.
