Description of your practice:
I run my firm’s Social Media practice and co-chair our digital Crisis Planning & Response (“dCPR”) client solution.  I help clients plan for and manage crises that occur or are discussed or disseminated online (in other words, all crises!).

Why are you a member of the WBAI?
In recent years, it has become increasingly apparent to me how critical it is to be a part of a group of strong, driven, and committed women lawyers.  It is personally and professionally empowering to be a member of a group that gathers women on this basis.  It is also a resource for support and encouragement when things are difficult.  The women I know in WBAI, from Kate Conway to Fiona McEntee to Liz Winiarski and so many others represent WBAI so well – they are support and encouragement and inspiration personified, and I am lucky to know them.

What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?
The best way to empower women in law is to be confident in your own career and your own practice.  When you are confident, you are leading by example, and others will follow.  Confidence also ensures you stay above the fray – above the politics and competition and some of the pettiness that can occur whenever people are striving for the same positions – and allows you to do your best and most focused work.  As a female attorney, I embrace and acknowledge qualities that are generally regarded as more traditionally female.  Whether it is showing empathy toward a client’s circumstances, using a level head and a calm demeanor when male energy and egos may be taking over, or using negotiating and compromising tactics as only a woman (and mother!) can when attempting to settle a case, there are myriad advantages to being a female in law.  The key, in my view, is not to shy away from those qualities.  Authenticity in every instance serves us well.

What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?
I am looking forward to continuing to build the dCPR practice that my partner Elisa D’Amico and I started some years back and that has taken the crisis world by storm (as we see it, anyway!).

Tell us something interesting about you.
With the help of my kids, I recently authored a kids and family cookbook, Foodie Tales, where each recipe is inspired by a children’s book.  Foodie Tales is scheduled to be published late spring 2020.
