Please provide a description of your practice.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a passionate advocate for equity and innovation in healthcare. My practice interests lie at the intersection of health law, compliance, and business regulation. During law school, I gained extensive experience through clerkships, internships, and leadership roles that have prepared me for a career in healthcare law.

I spent two years working as a law clerk handling healthcare litigation and advising on complex medical-legal issues. I also served as a summer associate at a transactional firm, where I worked on tax planning, corporate governance, and estate matters. My 1L summer was spent at Centene, where I worked with AI tools to analyze Medicare and Medicaid provider agreements.

Outside the classroom, I co-founded and led the Health Law Association, coached national health law competition teams, and served as the ABA Law Student Division’s Communications Director. I was also honored to receive several health law scholarships and awards, including the AHLA Michael F. Anthony Health Law Scholarship and Florida Bar Health Law Section Student of the Year Award.

My goal is to continue advancing healthcare access and compliance, and I’m excited to be part of the WBAI community as I begin my legal career in Chicago.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?

As a first-generation attorney, I’ve learned firsthand how vital mentorship, community, and advocacy are in navigating the legal profession. I joined the WBAI because it represents those values. The organization’s commitment to supporting women in law at every stage of their careers inspires me.

Now that I’ve moved to Chicago to begin my legal career, I want to be part of a network that not only uplifts women but actively works to advance equity and inclusion in our profession. The WBAI offers a space where I can grow, give back, and connect with other attorneys who share my passion for making a difference.

What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?

Empowering women in law starts with creating access to mentorship, leadership opportunities, and transparent pathways for advancement. It’s also about cultivating spaces where women feel supported, seen, and able to bring their full selves to the profession without having to conform to outdated expectations.

For me, empowerment also means actively investing in the next generation. This includes supporting law students, young attorneys, and women reentering the profession by sharing knowledge, sponsoring opportunities, and advocating for policies that promote work-life balance, particularly for caregivers.

Ultimately, it’s about building a legal community that not only includes women but also centers their voices and experiences in shaping the future of the profession.

What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?

This coming year represents a major turning point for me. Professionally, I’m most looking forward to securing my first entry-level legal role in Chicago and officially beginning my career in healthcare law. After years of building experience through clerkships, internships, and advocacy work, I’m ready to bring that background into practice and grow alongside a team that values innovation, equity, and service.

Personally, I’m excited to settle into a new chapter of life with my family. This transition is deeply meaningful for me because I am slowly building a better future for my family and showing them what persistence and passion can create. I’m looking forward to finding community, fostering professional growth, and achieving stability as we embark on this new journey together.

Tell us something interesting about you.

Before law school, I worked in cancer research and public health, helping design community-based healthcare interventions for underserved populations across Florida. That experience taught me how policy, law, and lived experience intersect, and it’s what inspired me to pursue a legal career in healthcare.
