At Nixon Peabody, our priority is to attract, retain, and promote talented individuals from a wide range of racial, ethnic, social, economic, religious, and personal backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations. Therefore, we encourage talented individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply.

Our Business and Finance Department is seeking to hire a non-partner track department attorney to provide services with respect to contracts, policies, compliance and risk management functions, primarily to one large client, but supporting other clients on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate can be based in any NP office. Attorneys seeking a remote, flexible, or alternative arrangement are also encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of experience in a law firm or equivalent environment and three to five years of experience in procurement and contract management and negotiation. Responsibilities will include preparing, revising, negotiating and processing routine commercial contracts, commenting on confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and lease negotiations and renewals. Additional key responsibilities will include document management, helping to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, designing, implementing and improving policies and procedures, and delivering in-house legal training, as needed – all with the support of other Nixon Peabody attorneys. Demonstrated corporate governance experience and knowledge, management skills, and effective use of oral and written communication, are important skills.

NP is an industry leader in corporate transactions.  Our firm has over 200 business lawyers who work together to handle the full range of mergers, sales, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, licensing, and strategic transactions for both private and public clients – from structure and strategy to negotiation and documentation.

A career at Nixon Peabody is the opportunity to do work that matters. It’s a chance to use your knowledge to shape what’s ahead, to innovate, to learn at a firm that taps into the power of collaboration and collective thinking.
