The formal Internship Program is for students enrolled in major fields of study that match full-time positions within the Company. Students may enter the program during undergraduate or graduate studies. This program is designed for currently enrolled students and is not designed for students who have completed graduation requirements at either the undergraduate or graduate level. The majority of internship experiences are offered in the summer months, usually lasting 13 weeks. The Internship Program was formally known as the Student Training Program (STP). At the end of the employment period, the Company determines, based on workforce needs and the performance of the student, whether he/she is recommended for a full-time opportunity upon graduation and/or another student session. An educational leave of absence should be granted if the student is recommended. Employment will be terminated if the student is not recommended. There are four main objectives of the Student Work Programs: 1. As a Recruiting Tool – To market the John Deere brand on campuses to attract potential employees. 2. As a Feeder for Full-time Employment Needs – Students from the program are recruited for positions matching full-time needs. 3.
