Reporting directly to the Dean, the Assistant Dean of Career Services serves as the chief career services officer of the law school and is an integral member of the senior administration. The Assistant Dean’s primary and essential responsibility is to implement, design, and execute a strategy to support the law school’s students’ career development goals, including soliciting and developing job opportunities, innovative programming, and proactive results-driven career counseling. He/she will establish goals, set policies and priorities, plan budgets, and revise annual operational plans for the law school’s Career Services Office. The Assistant Dean will oversee all employer outreach, marketing, student service, and administrative responsibilities of the Office, including budget administration and hiring and supervision of exempt and non-exempt staff. The Assistant Dean will conduct outreach and build relationships with strategic, high profile employers, as well as participate in national professional organizations. He/she will target and meet with employers substantially to increase hiring of the law school’s students and graduates. The Assistant Dean will provide direct career counseling services to students and alumni. Additionally, the Assistant Dean will directly oversee the compilation and reporting of all statistical data for leading ranking institutions-including U.S. News & World Report, American Bar Association, and NALP.
J.D. degree required and 5 plus years of administrative, marketing and counseling experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
