Jennifer serves as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General’s Government Representation Division.  She concentrates her practice in the defense of civil litigation matters, including representation of state employees in cases brought pursuant to  42 USC §1983.  Ms. Lutzke has tried several federal civil rights cases to verdict in the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Jennifer earned her B.A. in English from Western Illinois University in 2006 and her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2009, graduating cum laude.  She is licensed to practice in Illinois, Florida, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Jennifer was recently named to the WBAI House of Delegates as a representative of the Second District, DuPage County. She also serves a co-chair of the WBAI Legislative Committee.  Ms. Lutzke has been a member of WBAI since 2009.

Lisa M. Nyuli is a partner in the firm of Ariano, Hardy, Ritt, Nyuli, Richmond, Lytle & Goettel, P.C. in South Elgin, Illinois.  She focuses her practice primarily in family law and bankruptcy.  She has been licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 1989.  She was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court in 2004.

Ms. Nyuli is a frequent seminar speaker for the bar associations on various areas of practice, including family law, bankruptcy, practice management, GAL training and ethics/civility.  She received the Family Law Achievement Award and the Pro Bono Award from the Kane County Bar Association in 2003.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Ms. Nyuli received her B.S. in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986 and her J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1989.  She was honored with the Alumnus of the Year Award in 2005 from NIU College of Law.  She has been chosen by her peers as a Leading Lawyer in Family Law each year since 2010, and as a Superlawyer in Family Law since 2011.

DBGordon_004_KringLernerGroupEditedSquare700Diane Brazen Gordon received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana and her law degree from the University of Iowa, College of Law.  She was a law clerk to the Honorable Gerald D. Fines, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Central District of Illinois and has been practicing primarily in the area of consumer bankruptcy law since 1990.

Ms. Gordon is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification.  She is a member of the Federal Trial Bar of the Northern District of Illinois, the Illinois State Bar Association, The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, The National Association of Consumer Advocates, and The American Bankruptcy Institute.  She is President of North Shore Law.  She is past chair of the bankruptcy committee of the family law section of the American Bar Association, and has spoken at several ABA conferences on the topic of bankruptcy and marital debts.  She is the author of  Dischargeability of Divorce Debts in Bankruptcy, American Journal of Family Law, Volume 24, Number 3, Fall 2010;  Continuation of the Divorce Fight in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, American Journal of Family Law, Volume 28, Number 2, Summer 2014; and Marital Debt Disputes in Chapter 13: Is the Debt a DSO?, American Bankruptcy Institute Journal, Volume XXXIII, No. 3, March 2014, reproduced in the Best of ABI 2014.  Ms. Gordon is also a trained mediator and certified grant writer for nonprofit associations.

Paige Dowdakin PhotoPaige Dowdakin is an associate attorney at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. She focuses her practice in the area of corporate health care law and represents health care providers such as health systems, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and practitioners in their business and regulatory matters. She counsels clients on corporate and regulatory compliance, employment law, contractual issues, fraud and abuse, and health care services reimbursement.

Paige is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she received a Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, in International Studies and a minor in German. During law school, she was a 2013 competitor in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Vienna, Austria, and an associate editor of the University of Illinois Elder Law Journal.

Previously, Paige served as the student liaison to the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois while in law school from 2010-2013 and was awarded the Women’s Bar Foundation Scholarship during her final year of law school. Williams-Sonni-Choi 2011 PCBA Bar Pictorial Photo ShotSonni Choi Williams is the Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City of Peoria and has worked for the City’s Legal Department since 2000, starting as the Assistant Corporation Counsel.

Ms. Williams is a Commissioner on the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism formed under Supreme Court Rule 799 as well as a Chair member of the Hearing Board of the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC).

Ms. Williams has received the 2006 Northern Illinois University College of Law Young Alumnus of the Year Award; the 2008 Illinois Institute of Local Government Law Annual Achievement Award; and the 2010 ISBA Board of Governors Award.

Ms. Williams’ service to the community includes serving eight years on the governing Board and three years on the Foundation Board for EP!C, f/k/a Parc, whose mission is to enrich the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. In addition, Ms. Williams has shared her story of being a poor immigrant overcoming obstacles to obtain the “American Dream” at swearing in ceremonies for new citizens. Antonette received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in 2010.  She received a Master of Environmental Law and Policy and J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2014.  She is active in the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Claudia Castro is currently the Chief Legal Counsel for the newly created Illinois Concealed Carry Licensing Review

Board. Prior to joining the CCLRB, she was the General Counsel for the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault in Springfield. Claudia began her legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago.

Claudia graduated from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan with a concentration in litigation. She received her Bachelor in Science degree from Loyola University Chicago where she majored in Criminal Justice.

Claudia was recently appointed by the ABA President to the Gun Violence Advisory Committee. She is 40-hour trained in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocacy. Claudia was named as one of Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 40 Illinois Attorneys under Forty to Watch List in 2012.

Professor Melissa Marlow joined the Southern Illinois School of Law faculty in 1998 and helped create the Lawyering Skills I and II programs, which now enjoy high national rankings in recent U.S. News and World report surveys. She teaches legal writing, analysis, advocacy, interviewing, counseling, and negotiation as well as coordinates the simulated-based learning projects in the course. In addition, she teaches in the summer bar preparation program, assisting recent graduates in passing state bar examinations.

Professor Marlow has presented at numerous regional legal writing conferences as well as national and international conferences. She has worked on various AALS committees and currently holds an assistant editor position with the Legal Writing Institute Journal. Professor Marlow is an active participant in the life of the university, contributing in various capacities on a university as well as law school level. She formerly chaired the Professional Development committee and serves as faculty advisor to the Justinian society at the law school.
