Kilby (Cantwell) Macfadden, serves as the Assistant Deputy Chief of the Fraud Section of the Department of Justice. In this role, she focuses her prosecutions on medical professionals who overprescribe opioids fueling the national opioid epidemic. She previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Nevada in their White Collar Litigation Division. Previously Macfadden served as the Deputy Inspector General for the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the State of Illinois and as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General in the Public Integrity Bureau. In her career, she prosecuted fraud, waste and abuse of state actors. Ms. Macfadden also worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Narcotics Prosecution Bureau in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, earning the Cook County Judicial Service Award. She graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in criminal litigation and from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Political Science, with distinction.
