Karie Valentino

Karie J. Valentino is a partner in the law firm of Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, where she defends medical malpractice claims against hospitals, physicians, nurses and nursing homes. She also practices commercial litigation.

Karie is a dedicated member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.  She currently serves as the Second Vice President.  She served as a Board Member for the WBAI for several years.  She then served as the Recording Secretary for the WBAI from 2011-2012, the Corresponding Secretary for the WBAI from 2012-2013 and the Financial Secretary for two years from 2013-2015.  She co-chaired the 98^th Annual Installation Dinner with Michelle Kohut and Kristin Barnette.  She also co-chaired the 99th Annual Installation Dinner Committee with Kristin Barnette and Sarah Breitlander.  Kariewas also the past co-chair of the WBAI Joint Professional Dinner in 2009, 2010 and 2012.  She recently co-chaired the Judicial Reception in 2015.

During law school, she served as an extern for the Honorable George M. Marovich of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  She is also the President of The John Marshall Law School Alumni Association.   Karie writes a bi-monthly column for The Daily Law Bulletin which provides health and training tips for the legal community.

Karie lives in Lincoln Square with her husband, Franco, and their two children, Nicolo and Isabella.  She has also completed five Ironman triathlons and an ultra-marathon with her husband.
