Congratulations to WBAI Immediate Past President Whitney K. Siehl on completing her 12th Chicago Marathon on October 13th—her 16th marathon overall!

One of the highlights of this year’s marathon for Whitney was the incredible support from familiar faces along the course, especially from the legal community and fellow Bar Association leaders. Reflecting on the experience, Whitney shared, “I got an extra boost to the finish line seeing and high-fiving Huy Nguyen, President of the Asian American Bar Association, Dora Cornelio, Immediate Past President of HLAI, and Sarah Toney, 3rd Vice President of ISBA! The support of bar presidents is invaluable, both in our careers and personal lives, and that camaraderie truly lifted me up this year.”

Congratulations are also in order for WBAI Past President Karie Valentino and WBAI past board member Meredith Rudolfi, who successfully completed the 2024 Chicago Marathon as well!
Beyond her marathon accomplishments, Whitney recently joined the board of the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA), a nonprofit dedicated to serving and advocating for the local running community. CARA, considered Chicagoland’s premier running club, offers training, racing, educational programs, social events, and volunteer opportunities to runners of all levels.
A passionate advocate for running, Whitney has volunteered with CARA as a marathon group leader and pacer since 2017. In recognition of her commitment, CARA awarded Whitney the Lincoln Park Training Location Service Award in 2021 for her outstanding contributions. In their press release, CARA praised Whitney’s dedication, stating, “Driven by her passion for guiding first-time marathoners to achieve what they once thought was impossible, Whitney Siehl embodies the spirit of our mission.”
Congratulations, Whitney, on these incredible achievements and your continued contributions to both the legal and running communities! Read the CARA press release here.
