The Women’s Bar Association of Illinois was proud to participate in and support the 2025 Domestic Violence Symposium, held on October 30, 2025, at the Union League Club of Chicago. The full-day program brought together judges, attorneys, advocates, medical professionals, media leaders, and community stakeholders for thoughtful dialogue and education on addressing domestic violence through collaboration and accountability.

The Symposium featured a wide-ranging agenda, including discussions on the role of men in breaking cycles of violence, ethical media reporting, the medical realities faced by survivors in the courtroom, and the legal framework of the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. Attendees also heard powerful keynote and closing remarks, reinforcing the importance of continued advocacy and systemic action.

WBAI Membership Officer Hon. Megan Goldish, Judge in the Domestic Violence Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, played a key role in the program, moderating the panel “Action & Accountability – What Now?” Judge Goldish led a substantive discussion with panelists from the court system, advocacy organizations, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, focusing on practical next steps to strengthen survivor support and institutional responses.

The WBAI was honored to be among the event sponsors and to stand alongside our partners in advancing education, awareness, and meaningful solutions to combat domestic violence. We thank the organizers, speakers, sponsors, and attendees for making this important program a success.
