Member Monday Profile: Bethany Whittles Harris

Associate Attorney | Mossing & Navarre, LLC

Description of your practice:
I am an associate at Mossing & Navarre, LLC. We focus on medical malpractice, nursing home, and complex personal injury cases on the plaintiffs’ side.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?
My efforts as a co-chair of the Community Outreach Committee are especially important to me, as are my relationships with my fellow co-chairs Kristen Lukaszak and Natalie Federle. We focus on projects and events benefitting women and children, and have partnered with The Women’s Treatment Center and After School Matters in recent years. I also am grateful for the many friends and connections I’ve made as a member of this organization.

What is your definition of “having it all” OR What are the ways you try to achieve work/life balance?
Although networking is an important part of my job, I make it a point to not miss more than 2 bedtimes a week. I also don’t check work emails until after my daughter goes to bed and check as minimally as possible on weekends. Being present and appreciating the time I have with my family is essential to my success at work.

What are you most looking forward to in 2018?
My husband and I are fortunate to be expecting twins in April. I look forward to watching my 17 month-old daughter become a big sister and all of the joy and craziness that will come with becoming a family of 5.

Tell us something interesting about you.
Since early high school, I’ve had the chance to see (and in one instance meet) several prominent political leaders from both parties in person, including George H. W. Bush, John Kerry, Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, and most recently, Hillary Clinton.
