Associate Attorney // Miller Canfield
Description of your practice
I am a very newly minted member of the Commercial Real Estate Workouts Group, which handles situations involving distressed commercial real estate assets in both the litigation and transactional spheres.
Why are you a member of the WBAI?
The very wise judge for whom I clerked strongly recommended I join the WBAI, and it was a great decision. As a Chicago transplant beginning my legal career in somewhere other than my home market, I was looking for opportunities to make meaningful connections here. The WBAI is an amazing resource because it brings together people with varying interests, career paths, and levels of experience for the common purpose of advancing women in the law.
What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?
The best way to empower women in law is to put women in power in law. The WBAI facilitates the success of women by offering access and a way for people at different stages to connect. There are so many awe-inspiring leaders in the WBAI, and it genuinely feels as though every member is invested in each other’s success.
What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?
In 2021, I am most looking forward to kicking off my new position! Personally, I am counting the days until summertime Chi, when my husband, dog, and (hopefully) some socially-distanced friends can enjoy our new roof deck!
Tell us something interesting about you.
About one year ago, I went fully and spontaneously deaf in one ear. It has been an adjustment, but has done wonders for my sleep quality!
