Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual
Description of your practice:
I provide comprehensive financial planning services in which I creatively leverage a variety of financial products and services to proactively address each client’s individualized investing, savings, insurance, tax planning, education planning, and retirement planning needs.
Building upon my experience as a former Big Law financial services litigator, I specialize in providing personalized, strategic advice to help clients identify and avoid potential obstacles that may exist on the path to achieving their financial goals.
A substantial portion of my practice is dedicated to empowering women to create financial security for themselves and their families. I regularly educate women across the country on fundamental financial planning topics, including budgeting, saving, goal-setting, managing debt, and more. I align my national financial planning practice with Northwestern Mutual and am a graduate of William & Mary Law School and Colby College.
Why are you a member of the WBAI?
Having recently moved to Chicago from Pittsburgh, the WBAI has been an incredible way to make friends and build my network in a new city. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and the events throughout the year have been a blast.
What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?
In my practice, I seek to empower and encourage women lawyers to take charge of their financial futures to achieve their dreams, whether those be in the courtroom, at the firm, or in their personal lives. I know from my own experience that many women lawyers feel totally consumed by the day-to-day responsibilities of their jobs and overwhelmed by the thought of taking on the additional job of planning for their financial futures. So, too, I’ve found that even the brightest, most independent women often seem hesitant to start planning or investing because they don’t know where to start or what to expect! To that end, I have made it my mission to create a safe, comfortable, and judgement-free space for questions and real-talk conversations about finances among women.
What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?
My youngest brother is getting married in Phoenix in February. His soon-to-be wife asked me to be a bridesmaid, and I couldn’t be more excited!
