Description of your practice:
I defend hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in medical negligence cases.

Why are you a member of the WBAI?
Why not? The WBAI is not just a local bar organization or networking group. The community I’ve established through the WBAI is one of the most important and prideful parts of my career. From the top-down, the WBAI is filled with strong, fearless women who have faced similar challenges in this profession and continue to persevere, break down barriers, and strive for more.

What do you think is the best way to empower women in law?
If we can think of ourselves as both mentors and mentees as we proceed through our careers, we will empower those who come behind us and lay the groundwork for those following in our footsteps. I am lucky to work at a firm with female leadership at the top and strong women who have taken the time to sit down with me to explain the “why.” Take the time and make the effort to explain the “why,” whether as a mentor or a mentee and through our shared experiences we will empower one another.

What are you most looking forward to in the following year, personally/professionally?
I’m getting married next year after we postponed our wedding due to the pandemic. With the news about vaccines, I am hopeful next year we may have some sense of normalcy or even trials!

Tell us something interesting about you.
I am an AVID sports fan – particularly the Bears, Indiana Hoosiers (have you seen that defense?!), and the Michigan State Spartans!
