The WBAI, along with AABA, KABA, and CABA, was thrilled to host the Fourth Annual Lunar New Year Dinner Celebration, bringing the legal community together over a festive Korean BBQ dinner to welcome the Year of the Snake. Held at Iron Age Korean Steakhouse, the event honored several distinguished members of our legal community.

The WBAI was proud to recognize Audrey La, one of our dedicated law student volunteers, for her outstanding service and commitment to the organization.
Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, marks the arrival of spring and a fresh start based on the Chinese lunisolar calendar. This year, the snake symbolizes transformation, renewal, and personal growth. While often misunderstood in Western cultures, the snake is revered in many Eastern traditions as a sign of wisdom and evolution.
Jonathan H. X. Lee, a professor of Asian and Asian American studies at San Francisco State University, describes the Year of the Snake as a time to shed the past—letting go of negativity, outdated habits, and unrealistic expectations—to embrace new beginnings and personal growth.
We were honored to celebrate this special occasion with our colleagues and friends, fostering community, reflection, and renewal as we step into the new year together.
