Like the practice of law, the game of golf has its own terminology, etiquette, and official rulebook that any newcomer would find intimidating. In addition to this expected etiquette, there are also official rules, many of which have an ethical element. In this article, attorney Kim Brancato discusses how she felt when beginning her career practicing law and equated it in many ways to how she felt when she first learned to play golf – overwhelmed, intimidated, uncomfortable – and how learning to play golf helped her overcome her fears professionally and vice-versa.
