Honoring Leadership in the Cook County Circuit Court

By: Tracey L. Schroeder

The Women’s Bar Association of Illinois celebrates a moment of transition in the Circuit Court of Cook County. After 24 years of dedicated service as Chief Judge, Hon. Timothy C. Evans steps down, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership, compassion, and commitment to justice.

Judge Evans has overseen nearly 400 judges, managed a $368 million budget, and guided the court system with integrity and vision. WBAI thanks him for his decades of service and the lasting impact he has had on the judiciary and legal community.

At the same time, we congratulate Hon. Charles Beach on his election as the next Chief Judge, effective December 1, 2025. An 8-year veteran of the bench, Judge Beach brings experience, dedication, and a commitment to collaborative leadership. WBAI wishes him every success as he assumes responsibility for one of the nation’s largest unified court systems.

This historic transition highlights the ongoing evolution of the judiciary and the importance of strong, visionary leadership. WBAI celebrates both judges for their contributions and looks forward to witnessing the continued growth and excellence of the Cook County Circuit Court under Judge Beach’s leadership.
