The WBAI was honored to support the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago (BWLA) for the 2023-2024 Bar year at their Installation Ceremony on June 5, 2023. The event was hosted by Jones Day and celebrated incoming BWLA President Era R. Laudermilk. Ms. Laudermilk is Cheif of Staff for the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender. The event also celebrated BWLA’s 2023-2024 Officers, including WBAI member Kenya Jenkins-Wright, as well as the BWLA 2023-2024 Officers, Directors and Scholarship Fund Board Members.
The ceremony and reception featured remarks from BWLA member Hon. Lindsey Jenkins, U.S. District Judge of the Northern District of Illinois, and Sharone R. Mitchell, Jr., Cook County Public Defender.
Congratulations to the new board and a special congratulations to Kenya Jenkins-Wright and BWLA President Era R. Laudermilk. We look forward to ushering in the “BWLA Era of Era!”
