On March 31, 2015, over ninety law students and young lawyers joined an esteemed panel of experienced lawyers to discuss pressing topics currently affecting our profession, including, but not limited to, the misconceptions surrounding “work-life” balance, common struggles for working parents, and the benefit of pro bono work and bar associations. The panel consisted of Tarek Fadel (Founder and CEO of AdaptiGroup, LLC), J. Cunyon Gordon (Director of the Settlement Assistance Program at Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law), Margot Klein (Attorney at Valorem Law Group), and Justice Laura Liu (First District Illinois Appellate Court). The event was hosted at Chicago-Kent College of Law and sponsored by the WBAI YLC and Chicago-Kent Society of Women in Law.
Following the interactive panel event, attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception where they had the opportunity to network amongst one other and ask the panelists any further questions about their successful careers. The event was planned by Katherine Calhoun, Christina Faklis, Hayley Graham, and Meghan McDonald. A special thanks to our panelists for volunteering their time and insight, as well as Chicago-Kent and the members of the Society of Women in Law for their generous contributions and effort in helping to plan this wonderful event.
The WBAI Young Lawyers Committee welcomes law students and young lawyers interested in meeting other young lawyers, getting more involved in the WBAI, legal education, and networking.
