The Illinois primary election on March 20 will determine the Republican and Democratic nominees who will appear on the November general election ballot. With early voting already underway in Chicago, races are in their final stretch. The Judicial Rating Grid is now available and provides you with what you need to know when casting your ballots for judicial candidates.
Judicial candidates are rated by the Alliance members based on detailed information supplied by candidates, a background check by trained lawyers/investigators, and interviews with each candidate. Ratings reflect the Alliance’s opinion of whether candidates have the necessary qualifications for judicial service and are not a reflection of the candidates’ abilities as lawyers.
The WBAI Judicial Evaluation Committee serves the important function of vetting Cook County judicial candidates. Our ratings are used by voters, judges, and the Illinois Supreme Court in their nomination process.
