Antara Nath Rivera is currently an Arbitrator with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. She was appointed Arbitrator by Governor Pritzker in July 2021. Arb. Nath Rivera was licensed to practice law in Illinois in 2002. In 2003, she became Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a criminal prosecutor, she litigated numerous felony cases, including murder and sex cases. After leaving the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, she became Assistant General Counsel at the Illinois State Board of Education. Arb. Nath Rivera briefly moved to Arizona, for family reasons, and worked as Deputy County Attorney at the Maricopa Attorney’s Office as well as an Administrative Law Judge at Arizona Office of Administrative Hearings. Upon her return, in 2020, she became Chief of General Prosecutions at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Arb. Nath Rivera has been in public service for over 20 years. Her passion to give back is evidenced by her mentorship of law students and new attorneys through various bar associations, including WBAI. Her motto is “their success is my success.” As a member of the WBAI Board of Directors, she hopes to continue to motivate others, continue to teach, and continue to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Arb. Nath Rivera also sits on the Board of Directors for Kalapriya and the Cook County Board of Ethics.
